Today’s scheduled Nintendo Direct has been delayed to a further date due to an earthquake that struck the Japanese island of Hokkaido earlier today. The magnitude 6.7 tremor has buried homes under landslides, caused millions to lose power, and inflicted at least eight deaths. This comes after a season of catastrophic weather across the country, including a typhoon this week that knocked the “N” off the Nintendo logo on their company headquarters in Kyoto.

Nintendo announced the delay just after midnight PST. They plan to announce a new time/date “in the near future.” Our hearts go out to those affected by the earthquake, and we can only wish a speedy recovery to the afflicted regions.
