San Diego Comic-Con is just days away and now Nintendo has shared just what it has planned for the multi-day event. Once again, it’ll be taking over the convention center adjacent Mariott Marquis & Marina for four days of games and events open to all, for free.
This will be the next chance for players to come out and get some hands-on time with Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. If the sure-to-be long lines have you down, you can tweet @NintendoAmerica with #BringMeSmash. If you’re spotted, they might just come to your rescue with a pass to skip the line!
This Saturday, July 21st, will also see Nintendo hosting a 64-person tournament. Open for those ages 13 to 19 who register that morning, the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate – Arcadian Teen Tournament will bring plenty of matches to the Mariott to show off the game and build up the hype even higher.
It’s not the only game with a competition this year though. On Sunday July 22nd, Nintendo’s inviting families to come to the lounge for a Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze competition. At the end of the day, the top eight families working together to climb up the leaderboards will be receiving some prizes for their efforts.
Beyond all that, the following games will also be playable at various stations all day:
- Super Smash Bros. Ultimate from Nintendo
- Mario Tennis Aces from Nintendo
- Super Mario Odyssey from Nintendo
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe from Nintendo
- Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker from Nintendo
- Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze from Nintendo
- Overcooked! 2 from Team17
- FIFA 19 from Electronic Arts
It’s sure to draw in crowds, so make plans to arrive early to get the most out of Nintendo’s Comic-Con lineup! The Gaming Lounge will run from 9:30 to 7:00 p.m. PT Thursday through Saturday, and 9:30 to 5:00 p.m. PT on Sunday.
