Even with all the big reveals and new information for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate during E3, one stood out in particular as a great bit of old and obscure representation. Hailing from Joy Mecha Fight, a Famicom fighting game, comes the repurposed comedy robot — Sukapon!
From the game Joy Mecha Fight, Sukapon comes to Super #SmashBrosUltimate as an Assist Trophy. He’ll skillfully attack and throw fighters using his detached feet and arms! pic.twitter.com/cIg2s3r7Iz

With their detachable limbs, Sukapon is able to deliver some interesting attacks with their body at odd angles. Judging by the brief clip during the video presentation, their animations will be the same kind of jerky style as Mr. Game & Watch and Wario. Most notably though, they’ll be able to throw other fighters as a main form of attack.
I’ll call their inclusion long overdue and more than welcome, and can’t wait to see what other far corners of Nintendo get represented when Smash Ultimate releases on December 7th.
