Nicalis is down to one mystery fighter for Blade Strangers, a crossover fighting game coming to the Nintendo Switch. With Gunvolt announced on Monday, Quote from Cave Story revealed yesterday, another unveiling has come today — and it’s all about Isaac.

The titular character from The Binding of Isaac is ready for the fighting arena. This shouldn’t be too difficult after escaping his mother’s clutches and basement. Brought to scale with other players, Isaac retains his pixel art style while dropping the thick, black outlines. Since active and passive items won’t be of use here, Isaac’s attacks are calling back to his journey in different ways. Longtime fans will notice them right off the bat — his range of attacks are referencing past foes from Isaac’s fight to stay alive.
We’ll just have to see if Nicalis continues these daily reveals, with the announcement of the last fighter tomorrow!
