Ever since its debut, I’ve had my eye on Liar Princess and the Blind Prince, a fairy tale inspired game with an illustrated style and a sharp-toothed lead. While gameplay hasn’t been displayed all too much, we’ve learned more and more about its story and world over time. Now we have the culmination of that: what could easily be the game’s intro cutscene to set the stage for this pair’s venture in the woods.
While there are no subtitles, we’ve known the story for quite a bit. A wolf with a beautiful voice lives in the forest, a prince goes out to listen and is then blinded by the wolf and eventually locked away due to his injury. So the wolf meets a witch, trades her singing voice to become a princess, and sets out to lead the boy by the hand back to the witch to hopefully heal him.
Having all this delivered in the game’s unique, drawing based design adds much more resonance and weight to what I’ve known about it, keeping my fingers firmly crossed for an eventual localized release.
