Essentially mashing together Oregon Trail with grid-based battles, Banner Saga has you guide a caravan trekking through a devastated Viking legend-influenced world to escape the monstrous Dredge. Every choice matters and can lead to significant losses along the way – and those choices even carry over to the sequels, resulting in an epic story told across games.

Banner Saga 3 is set to launch on the Switch eShop this summer while the first two games are just slated for “this year.” It’d be unusual to play the third without first braving its predecessors, however, so it’s pretty likely they’ll arrive first. We’ll be sure to keep you up to date!
