The long-awaited and future GOTY Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn will be getting both a physical and digital worldwide release this spring. Developer Saber Interactive has teamed up with publisher Wired Productions to unleash this unlikely sequel. While the original game was a (very, very bad) fighting game, this sequel a quarter century later is a beat-’em-up in the style of an old Ninja Turtles game.

The press release promises “devastating combos” in the “successor to the worst game ever on a mission to restore Shaq’s legacy.” The release also ensures it’ll include the ability to channel Shaq’s “alter egos, Big Daddy O and Big Diesel” — which is just sublime. The trailer also has a new rap from the big man himself, which only makes me want a sequel to Kazaam even more than I do every other day.

We’ll make sure to keep you updated when a specific release date is announced, and we’ll see how far the limits of ironic appreciation can strain and bend before snapping in horrific fashion. That is to say: I hope the game is fun!
