The next time you find yourself immersed in the expansive land of Hyrule in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, you might find a new patch installed or be prompted to download it. Yes, there’s no new content coming to Breath of the Wild, but there are some minor fixes and new language choices. Here are the very short notes below:
- You can now select Chinese (Traditional), Chinese (Simplified), or Korean in the language settings menu on the Switch console to display text in the selected language.
- Voice Language selection is not supported for the above languages. If you choose “Match System Settings” in Options, voice data will be set to Japanese.
- Various fixes to improve gameplay.
The addition of Chinese (Traditional and Simplified) and Korean may be in response to the Nintendo Switch launching in South Korea and Taiwan this past December. After all, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was part of the launch day line up, as it was in Japan, North America, and Europe last March.
For those who play the Wii U version of the game, you’ll find a Version 1.5.0 update available, but without the language options.
