In what seems like one the most financially sound decisions of the year, developer Snail Games will be bringing its Ark: Survival Evolved-meets-Minecraft game PixArk to the Nintendo Switch on March 31st.

The title is a spinoff of the highly successful survival game Ark: Survival Evolved. PixArk, while being developed by Snail Games, received “design and technical support” from the original Ark’s developers, Studio Wildcard. This new game takes the dinosaur hunting and survival elements of Ark and adds in the blocky style and building mechanics of Minecraft. PixArk will have more structured, RPG-like content that focus on character progression and customization.

The trailer below shows players working together to fight dinosaurs and monsters, as well as buildings, towns, and weapons ranging from swords to a rocket launcher. Elements like magic and dragons are also hinted at alongside its system to tame wild creatures that you can ride.

Players will be able to explore alone or with friends, and the developers have stated that there will be a creative mode that allows players to build without the threat of getting stomped on by a triceratops. If all of these blocky dinos tickle your fancy, keep an eye out for the game when it launches in March.
