Last week various outlets shared new footage of Super Mario Odyssey, unveiling new kingdoms, enemies and abilities. Of course many of us were waiting for the folks at Eurogamer’s Digital Foundry to give their tech-focused take on the latest build of the game, and now the new breakdown has landed it’s looking good for the hatted hero’s new adventure.

For starters, while the E3 demo ran at 1280 x 720 pixels in docked mode, the new demo has bumped that resolution up to 1600 x 900, the same target resolution as Breath of the Wild. Despite this leap, the game still maintains a solid 60fps aside from a few tiny dips when tutorial videos pop up in the corner of the screen.

As for taking the game portable you’ll get the handheld screen’s native 720p for all gameplay scenes at 60fps, while cutscenes slice the resolution in half to maintain the frame rate. Shadow details, bloom effects and draw distance are also scaled down, but it’s worth noting they’re less noticeable on the smaller display regardless.

The most curious tidbit involves the recently announced Snapshot mode. Here the game drops to 30fps regardless of setting, but it turns out draw distance and level geometry details are maxed out and various other effects are improved, which should give your screenshots the best possible environment.

Super Mario Odyssey launches on October 27th worldwide.
