The NES Classic’s limited library of 30 pre-installed games just got a significant boost thanks to recent homebrew exploits, allowing anyone to add their own games to the mix. Of course, it’s important to note that the hack itself is a rather cumbersome and dangerous process that runs the risk of damaging the hardware.
Nevertheless, a video of the mod in action has been provided by YouTuber Arcaderu, showcasing games like Mega Man 5, River City Ransom and Bucky O’Hare running flawlessly on the coveted 8-bit machine.
While we here at Nintendo Wire by no means condone the hacking and exploitation of hardware, especially for monetary gain, it’s cool nonetheless to see what a community of passionate Nintendo fans can achieve if they put their minds to it.
