Following the release of Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered on Nintendo Switch 2, the remaster has inexplicably also been released on the original Nintendo Switch. In the lead up to the game’s release date, there was no mention of a Switch version, with the only platforms mentioned being Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox One X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. Even now, the original Nintendo Switch isn’t listed as a platform for the game on Atari’s own website.
Despite the lack of promotion or any acknowledgment of its existence, you can grab the Switch version of Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered on the Nintendo eShop for the same price as every other available digital platform: $29.99. If you want to pick up a physical copy, however, your options are limited to PlayStation 5 for $29.99 or Nintendo Switch 2 for $39.99.
It’s nice to see this remaster available to a wider Nintendo install base, especially since the Switch 2 is our “preferred place to play [Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered], especially with single Joy-Con supported.” There are plenty of other reasons to check out Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered, make sure to check out our full review for our complete thoughts.
