After being delayed into 2027, developer IO Interactive is ready to announce that 007 First Light will be hitting Nintendo Switch 2 on March 18th, 2027. That’s almost exactly one year after the original release date, which was March 27th, 2026 (before being delayed into May 2026 and then slipping away from Switch 2 entirely). Pre-orders for the game are available at retailers, though I can only find a listing on Amazon currently.

Interestingly, only the “Deluxe Edition” is available for $69.99 / €69.99 / £69.99 (or “Specialist Edition” as Amazon has it listed). That is actually $10 cheaper than on other platforms, and it includes the Gleaming Lighter, Gleaming Earphones, Gleaming Dart Gun, and Gleaming Pen gadgets, as well as the Day of the Dead, the Desert Explorer, the Silent Anchor, and the Gentleman Operator outfits. All of these costumes and gadgets are only available in the game’s New Game Plus or TacSim modes, however, so don’t get too excited. Pre-orders for the Switch 2 port will include “early access” to a new GoldenEye suit that has yet to hit the other ports.

The game recently received some free DLC in the form of the “Extended Operations” pack. This brought in New Game Plus, a photo mode, a harder “00” difficulty mode, and extra missions in the TacSim mode. TacSim is unlockable throughout the story and gives players access to custom missions with stipulations that Bond must meet (such as no guns, non-lethal only, etc.). It’s not the most substantial of additions, but it does give you something extra to do once finishing the story.
