Nintendo is bringing back Splatoween to Splatoon 3 this year. A recycled Splatfest theme from years past, the question on offer this year is, “What would you be in a fantasy world?” I’m not quite sure how the options fit in, but you can pick from Team Wizard, Team Knight, or Team Ninja. Obviously, everyone wants to be a ninja, but then host Shiver is a wizard. I’m conflicted.

Splatoween this year will be held between October 31st and November 1st, 2026. Players will be able to select their teams the week before the event starts, though with such a limited time to play, I imagine competition will be fierce this year. It could recapture some of the glory from when Splatoon 3 launched five years ago, which feels like yesterday to me.
It’s a shame Nintendo has ended regular updates to Splatfests, though that’s to be expected for an older title such as Splatoon 3. This year’s Splatoon Raiders shows that the company isn’t done with its creative team-based shooter series, though I wonder how much longer we’ll need to wait for a Splatoon 4 to emerge.
