Nintendo has shared an official illustration of the world map in the upcoming Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake.
Drawn in a vintage style on a yellowed parchment-style backdrop, the new artwork has an authentic fantasy feel. A closer look will reveal flags depicting symbols of the game’s various tribes, including the Kokiri, Zora, Gorons, Hylia, and Gerudo.
For comparison, the map from the 1998 original game’s manual is shown below. The placement of major areas — such as Hyrule Castle and Death Mountain (north), Kakariko Village and Zora’s Domain (east), Kokiri Forest (south-east), Lake Hylia (south) and Gerudo Valley (west) — are similar in both maps, suggesting the remake will remain fairly faithful to the original geography.
