IO Interactive has revealed that the upcoming release of 007 First Light on Switch 2 will be delayed a second time.

The developer announced on X that the port will now launch in March 2027, with an exact date to be revealed later.

“We know many of you have been looking forward to experiencing Bond’s reimagined origin story on Nintendo Switch 2, and we greatly appreciate your enthusiasm,” the company said.

The extra development time will be committed “toward polishing the Nintendo Switch 2 performance of the game.”

“We were thrilled by the positive feedback on 007 First Light at gamescom, and it’s a great sign of the progress being made across the whole game as we head toward launch. The same demo will be playable at Tokyo Game Show this week, so please join us there if you would like a hands-on experience.”

007 First Light was originally meant to launch on Nintendo Switch 2 alongside its PlayStation, Xbox, and PC counterparts in May, but was then delayed to Summer 2026.

The James Bond title has impressed critics and fans since launch, shifting an impressive 4 million units within its first three months on sale.
