Publisher Koei Tecmo is looking to ramp up its Switch 2 support in the coming months as evidenced by its latest quarterly earnings financial report. As spotted by Gamebiz, the company specifically talks about how it wants to move away from large-scale productions and diversify its portfolio by working on mid-range games, more remasters, and Switch 2 compatible versions of titles.
We’ve seen some of this come to fruition already with Dynasty Warriors Origins for Switch 2 in early 2026, and an upcoming port of Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty in the cards for September 3rd, 2026. The still unreleased Dynasty Warriors 3 Complete Edition Remastered will be coming to Nintendo’s latest console and next year’s Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember will be launching on Switch 2 alongside ports for other platforms.
The financial report doesn’t get into any specifics, but it seems as if Koei Tecmo understands that prices for gaming are increasing at every avenue. Game development costs have increased, hardware prices continue to rise, and games now routinely launch at $70 or more. By broadening its catalog with cheaper remasters, ports to other consoles, and smaller scale new productions, hopefully it will be able to weather the storm for many years to come.
