Capcom’s latest financial results have revealed that Resident Evil Requiem helped the company sell more games than in any other 12-month period in its history.
The report confirmed that the survival-horror franchise, which began in 1996, has now surpassed 200 million units sold.
Requiem, the most recent Resident Evil title, has sold a staggering 6.91 million units since its February 2026 launch. 2009’s Resident Evil 5 is still the bestselling entry in the series at over 19 million, with the 2019 Resident Evil 2 remake gaining in at just over 18 million.

For the business year ended March 31st, Capcom achieved its ninth consecutive year of record profits, as well as the highest consolidated sales and operating profit in the publisher’s history.
Capcom sold 59.07 million games during this period, up from the previous business year’s 51.87 million. The data reveals that 83.7% of the company’s sales came from older “catalog” games, and that 93% of units sold were digital downloads.
The report also includes lifetime sales for Capcom’s other big franchises, with Monster Hunter at 127 million, Street Fighter at 59 million, and Mega Man at 44 million.
