Mario continues to dominate the movie space as Nintendo’s latest animated adventure is quickly closing in on $1 billion at the global box office.
Box Office Mojo (via The Hollywood Handle) now has The Super Mario Galaxy Movie at over $940 million worldwide. At the rate it’s going, it won’t be long before the film makes 10 times its $110 million budget.
Amazon UK revealed last week that the movie will be arriving on digital platforms on May 20th. The 4K version will be $29.99/£19.99 on Amazon, with similar prices expected for Apple and other platforms.
Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto recently revealed that the Japanese version of The Super Mario Galaxy Movie went beyond standard localization, with the entire film “rebuilt” with its audience in mind.
