It’s never a dull day when it comes to Nintendo rumors. In a post on Twitter, Reece Reilly, aka Kiwi Talkz, shared a collage of four fours pointing to his favorite gaming franchises with the statement, “I know all 4 IP’s have stuff coming either soon or in a year or two.” Those franchises? Grand Theft Auto, Metroid, Zelda, and Smash Bros. We already know Grand Theft Auto 6 is happening (possibly with a Switch 2 port), but the others would be news to us.
These are my 4 favorite game franchises of all time and it's great that I know all 4 IP's have stuff coming either soon or in a year or two.

Elaborating a bit, Reilly states that another Metroid game is “on the near horizon.” Some are speculating it is a Super Metroid remake, which would actually fall in line with how Nintendo typically handles Metroid releases. It could also be another game in the style of Dread, which was developed by a separate team from the Prime series.
For Zelda, we’ve already heard rumors of an Ocarina of Time remake, though some people believe it might be a Link to the Past one. Either way, something is brewing, and it would make sense to release a game alongside next year’s live-action film. Super Smash Bros., though, is a massive suggestion. Reilly had to clarify that he never stated “new” with regard to Smash, though I’m not sure what else it would be. His suggestion of Smash Bros. Ultimate Switch 2 Edition could be plausible, but Melee and/or Brawl hitting NSO seems out of the question.

In fact, Reilly doubled down by saying that most of the projects aren’t “new” in the truest sense. “Maybe they are, maybe they aren’t but I was vague for good reason to protect devs, it could be new, it could be a spinoff, it could be a remaster, it could be something on NSO,” he writes, which seems to muddy his suggestions a bit. Grand Theft Auto 6 is absolutely new, at least.
People are misquoting me again, nowhere in the tweet did I say any of these games are NEW.

Don't jump…

Reece Reilly is known for his YouTube channel where he routinely chats with game devs. In the past, he has reliably leaked information about upcoming projects, though he obviously isn’t 100% correct. Still, he has connections with creators, so it’s entirely possible he has heard something.
