Capcom shared a heartfelt message to the Resident Evil fanbase as the franchise turned 30, written by Executive Producer Jun Takeuchi.

Takeuchi thanked fans of the legendary survival-horror franchise for their support over the past three decades. The original Resident Evil launched on March 22nd, 1996 on the PlayStation in Japan, where the series is known as Biohazard.

Takeuchi reflected on the recent success of Requiem, thanking players for the whopping six million sales the game has shifted in less than a month from its release.

“Our team will continue to work hard to bring all of you even more wonderful experiences in the future,” Takeuchi said.

“It would be an honor if you continued along with us on that journey.”

We know that one of those next projects will be story DLC for Requiem, which was announced earlier this month by Director Koshi Nakanishi.

Resident Evil Requiem is available now on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Steam. We said in our review: “Resident Evil may be revisiting the past with this latest entry, but for the most part, it manages to avoid its previous mistakes – and more importantly, capitalizes on what the series does best.”
