Picross developer Jupiter has announced a new crossover Picross game for Nintendo Switch owners, this time in collaboration with Konami. Titled Picross S: Konami Antiques Edition, I suddenly feel as if my bones are turning to dust in real time. I am not ready to accept that games like Frogger, Q-Bert, or Contra are antiques. I suppose I don’t have to accept that fact just yet, as this latest Picross title won’t be hitting the eShop until April 30th, 2026.
As with the most recent Capcom and SNK versions, Konami Antiques Edition will come packed with 585 puzzles set across six different modes. There will be 150 Picross puzzles, 150 Mega Picross puzzles, five large Clip puzzles (which are made up of 50 micro-puzzles each), 30 Color Picross puzzles, Five Bonus Puzzles, and a time attack mode with 30 challenges. The puzzles will consist of patterns from 80 different Konami games including the likes of Castlevania, Gradius, Metal Gear, and Contra.
While no native Switch 2 version is being released, Konami Antiques Edition will feature mouse control support for players on Switch 2 (carried over from the Capcom and SNK iterations). Touchscreen controls will also be available for anyone playing in portable mode, which is a really nice feature. It’s fun to mix and match the control options for when you’re playing portably or docked, etc. I think the mouse controls are pretty solid from what I’ve experienced in the Capcom pack.
No price was announced, but the last two went for $17.99 each. Inflation has come for Picross S, though at least you will get a solid 25+ hours of puzzle solving out of a purchase. Now we wait for a Nintendo Edition.
