Publisher ININ Games has announced that a physical version of Shenmue III Enhanced, the upcoming remaster of the divisive third entry in the Shenmue series, will be available later this year on all platforms. As is typical with belated releases of digital games, you’ll be able to grab the game in a regular edition, a “special” edition, or as a collector’s edition. The regular game is just a disc or cartridge of Shenmue III Enhanced, but it is notable for not being a game-key card. It runs $54.99, which is decent enough.
The special edition is a step between the standard and collector’s packages and includes the game in a special green box, the artbook, and a Blu-ray copy of “A Gamer’s Journey: The Definitive History of Shenmue” in a really cool looking jewel case. This version will set you back $74.99, which is actually not too bad for including a movie.
The collector’s edition, on the other hand, contains a bunch of doodads for mega fans of director Yu Suzuki’s martial arts epic. Not only will you get the physical version of the game, but a rather fetching black box to house all the trinkets. Those trinkets include an A2 sized poster, a sticker sheet, Kung Fu trading cards, a shikishi board, an artbook, a wooden scroll with martial arts techniques, a keychain of Ryo’s forklift, a Blu-Ray copy of “A Gamer’s Journey: The Definitive History of Shenmue,” and a 15 cm tall statue of Ryo training on a Shaolin wooden dummy. This will set you back $199.99.
Shenmue III Enhanced release date
There’s no release date for Shenmue III Enhanced yet, but the physical versions are expected to release in Q4 2026 for PC, Xbox, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2. You can pre-order them from ININ’s website today.
