Pokémon Pokopia will be hitting store shelves tomorrow, so to promote the upcoming game in Japan, Nintendo and The Pokémon Company have decked out the Tokyo metro service with a Ditto-themed splash of color. For a limited time, select trains on the Hanzomon Line will be transformed into Ditto cars, complete with purple paint, themed handrails, and even the weird human/Ditto thing from Pokopia.

Specific stations in Shibuya, Hanzomon, and Oshiage will also sport the new look, meaning you won’t be able to escape Ditto for the next few weeks if you’re traveling around Tokyo. It’s a fun bit of cross promotion that not only mixtures up your daily routine, but reminds you that Pokopia is waiting for you at home. I’m particularly fond of the stairs featuring Ditto’s face, though those handrails are incredible.

If I had to guess, this makeover will probably run for the remainder of March before the Tokyo metro returns to normal. I kind of wish it would become permanent, though seeing Ditto’s face for years on end might be enough to drive someone looney.
