Ōkami will be 20 years old in 2026, and Capcom has just opened a new anniversary website to celebrate the milestone.

The website announced that a 20th anniversary concert will take place in Japan on April 29th. It also teased more “merchandise and events” to come.

Unfortunately, the site contains no information on the Ōkami sequel, which was announced in December at The Game Awards 2025 and is currently in development.

As translated by Forbes, the website reads: “Since its release on April 20, 2006, Ōkami has been cherished by many for its unique setting, heartwarming story, and thrilling adventure.

“Similar to how the bonds forged by Amaterasu and Issun during their journey paved the way for the future, it is thanks to the deep affection and bonds shared by all of you that Ōkami has reached this milestone.”

Nearly one year ago to the day, Ōkami creator Hideki Kamiya revealed that the genesis of the game dates back to the mid-’90s, with the first concept being a side-scroller.

A Zelda-like action-adventure game, Ōkami originally launched on the PlayStation 2 in 2006, before seeing a Wii port in 2008. A HD remaster released on various systems in 2012, and on Nintendo Switch 2018. A DS sequel, Ōkamiden, came out in 2010.
