As expected, today’s 20 minute Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream Nintendo Direct unveiled when players will finally be able to get their hands on the game. Scheduled for a release this April, this is maybe one of the last high-profile Switch 1 games that Nintendo has in the tank. It’s a pretty monumental occasion as it will be releasing some nine years after the Switch actually hit the market.
If that wasn’t enough, some new details about the game have people very excited about the possibilities Living the Dream will bring. The best new addition is that of same-sex and non-binary couples, something which wasn’t possible in the 3DS original. When Tomodachi Life hit the 3DS in 2014, there was a glitch players could use to have same-sex couples wed and even give birth. While it was limited to male Miis, Nintendo’s initial response was met with blowback, but the company eventually promised to do better in the future.
There will also be city building aspects and a lot more customization, giving players more control over what their Miis get up to. It certainly sounds like a much better iteration of the 3DS title, which was already something of a hidden gem.
When will Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream release?
