We’re now just about a week away from the launch of Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, and while two of the three Prime 4 amiibo are already in stores as I type this, we still haven’t known much about what these figures actually do in-game… until now! Nintendo of Japan has officially updated its amiibo webpage with full functionality details for all three figures. Here’s everything you can expect:

Samus & Vi-0-La amiibo

  • You’ll be able to change Vi-0-La’s color.
  • Each time you scan the amiibo, you can check Vi-0-La’s total distance traveled.
  • Once per day, you can increase Vi-0-La’s Boost Energy regeneration rate.

Samus amiibo

  • Allows you to change the background music when riding Viola in Solvalei.
  • Once per day, you can activate a shield that blocks up to 99 damage.
  • When the shield activates, Samus’s life is fully restored.
  • Nintendo noted an important correction: An earlier description said “prevents up to 100 damage,” but the correct value is 99. This was updated on November 26, 2025.

Sylux amiibo

  • After clearing the game, scanning this amiibo lets you watch the full versions of the cinematic sequences that appear in fragmented form during the story.
  • Even without the amiibo, players can unlock these movies by achieving 100% scan completion and 100% item collection.
  • Each scan also plays a random voice line from Sylux.

Metroid Prime 4 releases on December 4th. You can snag the Samus & Vi-0-La and Samus amiibo at Amazon now. The Sylux amiibo launches alongside the game on December 4th!
