The long-awaited release of Pokémon Legends: Z-A is finally here, and many have already kicked off their adventure into Lumiose City. As players assemble their teams, the original Kalos starter Pokémon stand out as great options. That said, getting ahold of these isn’t as simple as just stepping into a Wild Zone and finding them. Instead, each member of the trio is locked behind a side mission found around the city. Worry not however, as we’ve put a list together with what missions to look for and how to find them easily so you can waste no time adding these rare Pokémon to your team!
Where to find Chespin in Z-A
First up for the trio is Chespin, which can be found stirring up trouble trying to fight a taxi of all things. This mission is located southeast of Wild Zone 3, directly next to Restaurant Le Wow. To finish this quest, all you have to do is battle this aggravated Chespin several times over, after which it will join the player’s party to help satiate its appetite for battle.
Where to find Fennekin in Z-A
Next up is Fennekin, who seems to not be doing so well. To find this mission, check in Magenta Sector 2, which is northwest of Lumiose Tower. This Fennekin needs some help, which leads to the player needing to collect a revitalizing twig to help it out. After it gets to feeling better, it will reward the player’s efforts by joining up with them!
Where to find Froakie in Z-A
Last but not least comes Froakie, and it can be found hanging out on a construction site on the edge of the city just north of the Jaune Pokémon Center. This Froakie has an affinity for parkour — and to convince it to join it’ll have to be beaten in three challenges across the nearby scaffolding. Make sure to roll to get over a gap in the final trial and Froakie will join without any issue!
With that, adding the original Kalos starter trio to your party is as easy as can be! All of these side missions can be accepted as soon as the initial tutorial with Emma is finished, so if you’re dead-set on using one of them for your playthrough you can do so right away. If you haven’t seen the new Mega Evolutions for these three yet, feel free to check them out here!
