Hades II has been one of our most anticipated games ever since it was first announced. The prospect of a return to this world and its godlike gameplay (and of developer Supergiant Games’ first sequel) was an all too easy sell.
We’ve loved our time with the game’s PC early access, and after today’s Nintendo Direct we now know the full release is just a few phases of the moon away.
Hades II will be launching first on console via both the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, releasing right alongside the v1.0 update on PC. This mirrors the treatment of the first Hades, and thankfully anyone who picks it up on the Switch will have a free upgrade path to the Switch 2 version as well. Cross-save functionality between Nintendo consoles and PC will also be available, making things extra convenient for anyone who’s already put time into the game.
We also now know that Hades II will run at 120fps at 1080p in TV Mode on Switch 2, with handheld clocking in at 60fps and 1080p. On Switch it’ll instead run at 60fps and 720p in both modes.
Hades II release date
Hades II will arrive on Switch 2, Switch, Steam and Epic on September 25. Pre-orders are open now, with a physical release set for November 20th.
