A few years after its announcement back in 2022, Mina the Hollower is almost here and Nintendo Switch 2 owners are in for a treat. As announced during the Indie World Showcase today, Yacht Club Games’ long-anticipated followup to Shovel Knight will not only be releasing on Switch before other consoles, but will have a native Switch 2 port available the same day. Set to hit PC, Switch, and Switch 2 on October 31st, 2025, Mina the Hollower is set to ring in the Halloween season in style.
While an indie game such as Mina wouldn’t necessarily need a Switch 2 port to run well, Yacht Club is going the extra mile when it comes to support for Nintendo’s latest platform. Gamers with a Switch 2 will be able to experience the game at 120 fps in both handheld and docked play, though obviously docked mode will need to knock the resolution down to 1440p to accommodate. The Switch 2 version also features mouse support (which Yacht Club affectionately writes, “In Mina the Hollower, you ARE the mouse!”), though to what capacity we don’t know yet. It will seemingly be as seamless as in Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, however.
When will the Mina the Hollower demo release?
Lastly, a limited-time demo for Mina the Hollower is now available on Switch and Switch 2. Featuring the game’s opening stage and first boss fight, progress made in the demo will carry over to the final game when it releases. The demo will be available until August 21st, 2025, so you’ll have a few weeks to download it if you’re interested.
