A quick Saturday morning look at the European game ratings website, Pegi, has revealed a surprising new title is headed to Nintendo Switch 2. This is certainly a particularly bustling time to be a Nintendo fan, what with a new console on the way and preorders beginning imminently, but it’s especially thrilling to see all of the new game announcements coming out of the woodwork.

A massive 2025 AAA video game has been spotted as being rated for Nintendo Switch 2. According to Pegi.info, Assassin’s Creed Shadows has been rated Pegi 18 (M for Mature in ESRB equivalent) for Nintendo’s Switch successor. It remains to be seen if the game will launch with the system on June 5th, but the game receiving a rating whatsoever is a good indicator it’s coming soon.

Oddly enough, the Switch 2 rating only appears in the “Most Searched” section of the PEGI website. Click through to the game’s actual listing, and the Switch 2 mention vanishes. So, one of two things is likely going on here: either PEGI jumped the gun and posted the rating early, or it’s some kind of glitch. That said, no other games on the site seem to show this kind of inconsistency, which makes this one all the more interesting.

This is quite an impressive turnaround for Ubisoft who recently in March initially released Assassin’s Creed Shadows to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and Steam. It’ll be interesting to see what the game looks like running on Nintendo’s new powerhouse hybrid console. With the improved graphical fidelity, HDR and 4K support as well as the potential of running certain games at 120 frames per second, Shadows could be a great fit for Nintendo Switch 2.
