Splatoon has quickly become one of Nintendo’s most popular franchises, with three games being released so far, a plethora of merchandise and collabs under its belt, and numerous mangas available to the masses over the years. Nintendo of Japan has now revealed that a new app featuring the Splatoon manga will be available on March 13th!

The manga app will be available on Nintendo Switch and will cost you 100 yen. It’s currently unknown if all volumes of the manga will be available at launch or if it’ll work similar to Nintendo Music, with new content added regularly.

Splatoon manga history

The Splatoon manga first released as part of CoroCoro magazine on February 29th, 2016, and was later localized for western audiences in 2017. The original manga ran until 2022, before returning in 2023 with a new title — Splatoon 3: Splatlands. As of now, there are a total of 21 volumes spread across the two. An animated adaptation based on the manga was released in 2017 on CoroCoro’s YouTube.

For now, the Splatoon manga app is exclusive to Japan, with no mention of a western release. We’ll have to see just how the new app works when it releases in just a few days!
