The ‘Sonic The Hedgehog’ movies have been a runaway success for Sega and Paramount. With Sonic 3 preparing to rush into theaters this weekend, it’s projected to be the highest grossing entry so far.
Today, Variety has confirmed that Sonic 4 is happening thanks to Paramount Pictures and is targeting a Spring 2027 release date. This comes after Ben Schwartz, the voice actor for Sonic in the movies, stated on The Colbert Show that he would love to do “10 or 11” Sonic movies.
What could Sonic 4 end up bringing to the table? Fans will surely anticipate seeing more of their favorite anthropomorphic heroes (and anti-heroes) get debuted on the big screen. But the real question is, will Jim Carrey play THREE Eggmans? There’s always the multiversal Eggman Nega to consider if Paramount are feeling extra dimensional.
Sonic 3 is racing into theaters tomorrow, Friday December 20th, and will introduce Keanu Reeves’ depiction of Shadow The Hedgehog.
