Update: As of this morning, the Nintendo Switch Online Playtest has officially begun. Just as quickly as testing started, loads of screenshots, videos, and impressions were uploaded—and promptly removed—from social media. While we can’t show them here, for those curious, they aren’t too difficult to find if you look around.
A few weeks ago, Nintendo announced a mysterious Nintendo Switch Online “Playtest Program,” with around 10,000 lucky participants selected to take part. Today, those participants have officially gained access to the test app and, more importantly, some initial details about what to expect when the test begins on Wednesday, October 23rd. While we can’t reveal any specifics about what’s being tested (lest we incur the wrath of Nintendo’s legal team), I will say this—based on what I’ve seen and heard so far, it’s definitely not what I expected!
