The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is Princess Zelda’s first starring role in the series — and yet her name has been attached to for nearly 40 years. As such, she’ll want to look her best. Luckily, Echoes of Wisdom gives her the ability to accessorize with several different accessories from all over Hyrule. Each of these accessories has a unique effect that will do things like enhance Zelda’s abilities, change how often hearts or other materials drop, make Zelda take less damage, and more. The downside is that to start with, you’ll only ave one accessory slot available to you, meaning you’ll be doing a lot of switching things around if you want to take full advantage of all your options.
Luckily, an entity exists hidden somewhere in Hyrule that will make Zelda more stylish, thus enhancing her ability to equip accessories, ultimately offering up to five accessory slots. You better come prepared though, because it’s gonna cost a pretty Rupee to unlock all five slots.
Finding the Great Fairy
First things first, you need to find The Great Fairy, as she’ll be the one unlocking more accessory slots for you to utilize. After you complete the Suthorn Ruins dungeon, you’ll need to make your way to Lake Hylia, directly north of the Suthorn Forest. The easiest route will be heading north through Suthorn Prairie towards Hyrule Castle, and then turning east once you leave Suthorn Prairie.
Once you hit Lake Hylia, you’ll notice a rift, but you should be able to easily swim around it. What you’re looking for is a small island right in the middle of Lake Hylia that has a cave entrance decorated with carvings of Fairies. Head inside this cave and you’ll be greeted with a Fairy Fountain and two smaller Fairies you can collect if you have any Empty Bottles.
Upgrading your accessory slots
Interact with the Fairy Fountain and The Great Fairy will appear and offer to make you more stylish. This first upgrade costs 100 Rupees, and will unlock a second accessory slot for you to use. Each subsequent slot will cost more Rupees to unlock too, so the complete upgrade path is: 100 rupees for the second slot, 300 Rupees for the third slot, 500 Rupees for the fourth slot, and 1,000 Rupees for the fifth slot.
All in all, you’ll be forking over 1,900 Rupees to The Great Fairy for all five slots, but it’s more than worth it to have the abilities of several accessories active at once as you make your way across Hyrule.
