As the Switch enters its (possibly) final year on the market, Nintendo seems to be going much harder with adding classic games to its Switch Online service. For July 2024, NSO subscribers will be receiving a total of seven NES classics to play on the go or at home. Most of these really stretch the definition of “classic,” but all the same, it’s an interesting and diverse selection of games that will certainly tickle the nostalgia bone of certain players.
The following games will be added on July 4, 2024:
- Cobra Triangle
- Solar Jetman
- The Mystery of Atlantis
- Mach Rider
- Golf
- Donkey Kong Jr. Math
- Urban Champion
Many will remember a few years back that a hidden easter egg was found within the Switch’s OS that included NES Golf on it. As one of the first games that the legendary Satoru Iwata worked on, the common belief is that Nintendo included it on every Switch console as a tribute to the late, great man. There has never been a way to activate this easter egg on an unmodified Switch console, but it’s still an interesting piece of Nintendo’s history and a fitting monument to Iwata’s legacy.
