As part of its investor business report today, Remedy Entertainment (creators of Max Payne, Alan Wake, Quantum Break, and Control) has announced a slew of projects for the next few years. While a spin-off of Control titled “Project Condor” is now in full production, the bigger news is that the upcoming remakes of Max Payne 1 and 2 will enter production in Q2 2024. That’s incredible news for fans of the series, which has been dormant since Max Payne 3 release all the way back in 2012.

This comes off the news that Alan Wake 2, Remedy’s latest game and a title that could wind up on Switch 2 in the future, has surpassed 1.3 million units sold as of February 2024. That’s good news as it shows fans are still clamoring for more Remedy games, which hasn’t always been the case. Alongside Alan Wake 2’s sales, Remedy stated that it hopes Control 2 will enter the “production readiness” stage by Q2 2024. The developer already stated that it has big plans for both games in the future and that it hopes to not take another 13 years to get a sequel to Alan Wake out.

What does this mean for Nintendo fans? Well, Control did have a release on Switch via cloud streaming and Alan Wake Remastered was ported to Nintendo’s hybrid platform in October of 2022. Remedy clearly likes Nintendo consoles, it just needs more power to not compromise its games. As I said above, the Switch 2 could just be the answer to getting more Alan Wake and Control on the go.
