It’s still awards season, which means folks are continuing to get together in suits and fancy dresses to give fancy statues to game developers in recognition of their hard work and achievements. And while last night’s DICE Awards mostly continued this year’s trend of God of War Ragnarok and Elden Ring sweeping the majority of categories, one Nintendo title did pick up a win – Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope, which walked away with Family Game of the Year.

The first game wasn’t even nominated for the award when it released in 2017, so this is a pretty big accomplishment for Ubisoft and Nintendo. The only other winners on Nintendo Switch were a couple indie titles – namely OlliOlli World winning Sports Game of the Year and Tunic nabbing Outstanding Achievement for an Independent Game. You can check out the full list of winners at the Academy of Arts and Sciences site.
