Recently Square Enix has been embracing YouTube as a platform for official soundtrack downloads, though most of those are purely just the music. This latest project, however, is tying the iconic tunes to video footage.

The Video Soundtrack series only includes a few Final Fantasy I tracks right now, namely the Prelude, Opening Theme, Castle Cornelia, Main Theme, and Chaos Shrine.

These are tied to gameplay footage from the Japanese NES version of the game letting you stew in that retro nostalgia.

Square Enix Music promises to upload even more songs in this style so if you’re interested be sure to check out the official YouTube channel.
