We all love Metroidvanias (even if some of us don’t like the term “Metroidvania”), and we all also dig fluid combat systems, right? Toss in some customizable controls, a nice medium-fidelity pixel art style, and a sky-ocean setting, and we have the upcoming search action game Vernal Edge from Pid Games and Hello Penguin Team.
The game follows the eponymous Vernal as she travels the world with friends and takes revenge on her father. You can personalize your playstyle as you explore in classic Metroidvania style, opening up more areas as you acquire abilities. Vernal Edge has a loose “Coming Soon” release date, but we’ll be sure to provide updates on when it comes to Nintendo Switch.
