Metroid Dread is already a fairly unforgiving game, but there’s great news for both those who want more punishment and those who’d prefer to tone down the difficulty. In today’s Nintendo Direct presentation, it was announced that the title will receive a free update later today that will introduce new difficulty modes.

In Dread Mode, it only takes one hit for Samus to go down, while Rookie Mode boosts recovery gained from health pick-ups. The demo of the game, available from the Nintendo eShop, will also be updated with these modes.

A free update is also set to release in April, adding a Boss Rush Mode for those who want to relive all of Metroid Dread’s intense boss encounters continuously.

Metroid Dread is available now, exclusively on Nintendo Switch.
