We’ve gotten so used to seeing new releases make their way into Tetris 99 as themes that it’s a little odd to see something that’s been around for a while make the cut. Yet like a well-honed weapon, Monster Hunter Rise is entering the fray after months of being available, making its way to the free to play multiplayer matches this weekend.
Though its Sunbreak expansion was just announced, this one’s sticking to Rise’s already available hoard of monsters. While the theme is a little plain for my taste (despite otherwise loving the paintbrush aesthetic they’re using), the highlights are the icons. Who doesn’t want to see Palicos and Palimutes dot the board as you KO opponents, racking up dango for your puzzle prowess?
Remember to check into Tetris 99 starting this Friday, October 8th, and get to racking up points to make this Monster Hunter Rise theme yours to keep. The event will run the whole weekend and through the following Monday, October 11th.
