It’s hard to believe it’s been four years since Sonic Mania launched, but Sega has marked the occasion with a new piece of artwork from Tyson Hesse.

Hesse previously animated the game’s intro and has a long history with the Sonic series, from working on comic covers to helping Paramount redesign the hedgehog’s movie design. Fittingly, this new piece seems to take place in that aforementioned surreal intro setting, with bold colors and the iconic trio of Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles.
Sonic Mania, and its Encore DLC, are available via the Nintendo Switch and various other platforms.
