It’s often been cited that Dragon Quest releases end up giving people days off for many in Japan, be it from mass employee requests off or purely out of recognition of the series’ prominence. For at least one company, another massively popular RPG is getting the same treatment.

Per Yahoo News Japan, Mark-On, a company working with AR, VR, and MR development, has named this Friday, March 26th, as a Monster Hunter Holiday for its employees. As cited in the article, many employees were asking for the day off specifically to play Monster Hunter Rise, the latest in the series from Capcom.

While this could be a one-off occurrence, it’s still a great showing of recognition from higher-ups to satisfy their employees and a testament to MonHun as a franchise. You can see what we thought of Monster Hunter Rise in our full review. Spoiler, it’s well worth taking a day off for.
