The Friends of Ringo Ishikawa is one of the Switch’s unsung gems, being an engrossing mash-up of a Japanese life-simulator and a beat ’em up with RPG mechanics. That game’s creator released the similar in concept Arrest of a Stone Buddha onto Steam back in February, and now it’s been confirmed that the game will hit Switch on May 21.

In Arrest of a Stone Buddha, you play as a professional killer in France during November, 1976. You won’t just be mowing down enemies in a hail of bullets, however – with your off time you can explore the city, visit the museum, go on dates, and live a generally mundane life.

You’ll be able to experience that juxtaposition via the eShop on May 21.

Whether it’s an exciting new entry in a series long established or a weird experiment meant only for the dedicated, Tom is eager to report on it. Rest assured, if Nintendo ever announces Elite Beat Agents 2, he’ll be there.
