In most Animal Crossing games, your appearance was dictated by a quiz at the start of the game – if you wanted to get a specific look, you’d have to find a walkthrough. New Horizons, however, looks to be completely overhauling the system to be more in-line with what we saw in Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, with a full character creator when you take your picture for your passport.
Check-in Procedures ②
At the counter, they'll ask for your name and birthday, and then they'll take a picture of you for your passport. Take as much time as you need to get yourself looking just the way you want! pic.twitter.com/kJQjUDIREc— Tom Nook (@animalcrossing) February 26, 2020
That’s not all, though. If you ever wish to re-do your appearance, you can simply look at a furniture item with a mirror or a vanity closet and completely change everything, down to the eyeshape and skintone!
Now, I want everyone to know that you'll be able to adjust the way you look while on your new island, so there's no need to worry! Yes, yes, as long as you have a mirror or a vanity, you can change up your style at any time! ♪ pic.twitter.com/schX5mdZuj

What this means for Shampoodle and its haircut options remains to be seen, but it’s nice to know you won’t be stuck with the same look for long if you don’t like it.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons launches for the Nintendo Switch in just a matter of weeks on March 20th.
