After multiple reports of alleged sexual harassment and assault, Nintendo has removed voice actor Chris Niosi from the role of male Byleth in mobile game Fire Emblem Heroes and the recently-released Fire Emblem: Three Houses for Nintendo Switch.
Allegations resurfaced against Niosi after he was cast in Three Houses, leading to a lengthy apology post from Niosi on his blog. He wanted to apologize to “all of the people” he’s hurt, and he told readers it wasn’t just a “PR stunt.”
Nintendo has already uploaded a trailer for Fire Emblem Heroes featuring Zach Aguilar as Byleth, who is best known for voicing Genos in the One Punch Man anime.
Aguilar later tweeted to confirm his new role in the Fire Emblem family.
Hey guys! I’m excited to announce my involvement in Fire Emblem: Heroes as the voice of male Byleth. It’s a huge honor, and I’m glad to be a part of the FE family now! @NintendoAmerica @FE_Heroes_EN #FEHeroes pic.twitter.com/rwtb1LxurB

Game Informer received a statement from Nintendo confirming that Niosi will also be removed from Fire Emblem: Three Houses in an upcoming patch. Nintendo has not confirmed when it plans to release the update.
