Fans have been clamoring for Hollow Knight: Silksong ever since its reveal back in 2019. The game has had very few updates in the 5 years we’ve known of its existence. The wait may finally be over. Earlier today, Silksong was given a rating by Australia. This further speculation of an imminent release, as a rating was given by Korea earlier in the year, and the game was listed on the Xbox store.

Hollow Knight: Silksong listing pops up on Xbox

Hollow Knight: Silksong actually began as DLC for the original game. Focusing on the character Hornet, the developers decided they had enough material to make a full-fledged sequel. It’s become almost a meme of sorts with every showcase/Direct ever since, with fans holding out hope that they’ll finally hear something, ANYTHING, about the return to the world of Hollow Knight.

It seemed like the time was finally coming in 2022, when Silksong was shown off in Xbox and Bethesda’s Games Showcase. A tweet by Xbox implied the game would be released within a year but the time came and went with no updates. Nothing’s set in stone, but with the ratings updated, speculation is now rampant for the long-awaited sequel. I personally cannot wait to see what Team Cherry has in store.
