Amelia is a trans writer and game lover who lives in Seattle, Washington. She's been working for Nintendo Wire since 2016 and has a BA in English, with an emphasis in creative writing from the University of Washington.

Born and raised in Reno, Nevada, she’s loved video games from her literal earliest memories, which consisted of playing Pokémon Yellow on her Game Boy Color. She’s been a fan of the Legend of Zelda, Metroid, and Kirby from some of her earliest years, and has gone on to become an avid diehard for Fire Emblem, Xenoblade, and EarthBound, which is her favorite game (and franchise) of all-time.

Amelia adores analyzing and picking apart games on multiple levels, especially when it comes to characters, stories, and themes. She loves nothing more than a meaty JRPG to sink her time into, and will happily spiel about ludonarrative resonance to anyone who cares to learn what that phrase even means. She hopes to spread that same passion to others with her writing!
