Retail listings for Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition have finally started cropping up, and they’ve confirmed one key detail about the port: it will be a Game-Key Card. This was to be expected considering the size of the game, which occupies about 80 GB on PC with the DLC included. Since Tarnished Edition is something of an “all-in-one” package, it includes the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion and some extra goodies, ballooning the installation a bit.

What is more surprising is that the game will be $80 on launch. To be fair to Bandai Namco here, that is the same price as the “Shadow of the Erdtree Edition” on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. Right now, you can find the listing on the PSN store that goes for $80, but that’s definitely absurd for a four-year-old game and its nearly two-year-old DLC. If nothing else, this Nintendo Switch 2 port should be released for $60 with a permanent price drop on other platforms.
I guess this was to be expected with how prices have been increasing in the games’ industry over the last year or so. With consoles going up in price as they age and the price of flash memory making physical editions pricier, it was only a matter of time that the $80 release became standard. It’s still disappointing to see, though at least Elden Ring offers a ludicrous amount of content to occupy yourself with.
